How Sledge AI learns from use, and the choices you have.
Effective Date: November 27, 2026 · Last updated: October 28, 2026
This AI Data Use Agreement is part of the Sledge Terms of Service between DMR Corp, doing business as Sledge ("Sledge"), and the Customer. It explains how Sledge AI learns from use, what is included and excluded, and the choices an owner or admin has. Capitalized words not defined here have the meanings in the Terms. If this Agreement conflicts with the Terms on AI data use, this Agreement controls.
Construction work is specialized. Generic AI models do not know how a lien waiver, a pay application, a takeoff, or a change order really works. Sledge AI gets more accurate for every customer by learning from how the industry actually uses it.
2.1 De-identified improvement (on by default). Sledge may use Customer Content, AI conversations, AI results, and Usage Data to train, fine-tune, test, evaluate, and improve Sledge's own AI models and features, after removing names, contact details, signatures, account numbers, and other information that identifies the Customer or any person ("De-identified Data").
2.2 Identifiable training (off unless the Customer opts in). Sledge will not use Customer Content in a form that identifies the Customer or any person to train or fine-tune AI models shared with other customers unless an owner or admin of the Customer opts in. An opt-in can come with credits, pricing, or early access that Sledge offers at the time.
Sledge never uses the following to train or improve AI models, at either level:
Sledge uses technical measures, such as automated removal of names, contact details, addresses, signatures, and identifying numbers, plus review, so that De-identified Data cannot reasonably be linked to the Customer or any person. Sledge publicly commits to keep De-identified Data in that form, will not try to re-identify it, and requires anyone it shares De-identified Data with not to re-identify it.
5.1 Feedback. When a user rates, corrects, flags, or comments on a Sledge AI result, Sledge may use that result and the feedback to improve Sledge AI.
5.2 Human review. Authorized Sledge team members, and contractors working for Sledge under confidentiality duties, may review samples of de-identified conversations and results to check quality and safety. Reviews of identifiable conversations happen only for support the user asked for, security, abuse, or legal reasons, and are logged.
Sledge AI runs on models from outside providers listed on the Subprocessors page. Those providers may use data only to return results to Sledge and may not train their own models on it. In the mobile apps, before Sledge AI first sends a user's information to them, Sledge tells the user which providers are involved and asks for permission.
7.1 Turning off de-identified improvement. An owner or admin can turn off de-identified improvement for the whole workspace by emailing privacy@getsledge.com. Any user can ask Sledge not to use their own AI conversations by emailing privacy@getsledge.com.
7.2 Opting in or out of identifiable training. An owner or admin can opt in, and later withdraw, in Settings, Organization & team, Model training, or by emailing privacy@getsledge.com.
7.3 Going forward only. Changes apply to data from that point on. They do not undo AI models or features already trained or improved, or De-identified Data already created, because those do not identify the Customer or any person.
Sledge owns De-identified Data, aggregated data, and all AI models, features, and improvements it develops, including any trained or improved under this Agreement. The Customer keeps ownership of its Customer Content and its Output, as stated in the Terms.
Sledge does not sell Customer Content or personal information in it. Sledge may share or publish De-identified Data and aggregated insights, such as industry benchmarks, in a form that does not identify the Customer or any person.
Sledge records each change to the Model training setting and each opt-out request: who made it, when, and which version of this Agreement was in force. Any member of the Customer can see the current choices and when they last changed.
Sledge may update this Agreement as described in Section 24.1 of the Terms. Sledge will not use data collected before a change for a materially new AI purpose without the Customer's consent. Questions go to privacy@getsledge.com or legal@getsledge.com.
